WHAT'S LURKING BENEATH?!

Danger could be burrowing beneath your concrete!

Jennifer  Strauch

It’s finally Spring!  You decide to leave your window open for some fresh air after the long winter, but instead of the fresh air you expect, you get accosted by an overwhelming smell that makes it impossible to continue on with a good night sleep.  The next day you see the evidence of your misery on the street close to your house. A black and white mess, formerly known as a skunk, presently known as “road kill”.  Have you ever wondered where those unfortunate little critters originated?

Well don’t look too far from your own home if you have a space beneath your concrete slabs.  This is where small animals love to make their homes.  We see it all the time, among other critters that are found daily are; mice, rabbits, raccoons, voles, and especially snakes. It‘s also a prime place to find those pesky wasps nests and black widow spiders.  These unwelcome boarders can harbor very dangerous diseases which can be passed on to your pets and even yourself.

We were accosted by a diseased raccoon on our own property!  What a mess that was.  After the county trapped it, they put our animals in quarantine until they could determine it’s disease and make sure that our animals were uninfected.  And guess what?!  We got to pay for their boarding! After a gruesome testing process they found distemper, and the raccoon was euthanized.

Besides diseases, they wreak havoc on your concrete slabs and even the foundation of your home.  Their burrowing causes negative drainage, which will eventually may divert water down the foundation, causing flooding in your basement and even sinking of your foundation, which puts the integrity of your home at high risk.

Now is the time to give your concrete a thorough exam.  Go around your house and check every outdoor slab. If you can see beneath your concrete,  you have a problem that needs to be fixed.  If there are no boarders yet, it is only a matter of time.  Slabs that have become void or have sunk need to be mudjacked.  This fills the void and, if sunk, raises the slab back up.  Mudjacking is much more reasonable than replacement and it can be done in a matter of a couple hours as opposed to days.

It is especially important to have this done if you are considering selling your home, as most lenders will insist that it is before closing.  The sight of sunken concrete will turn many potential home owners away, so it is to your best interest to have it done before you show your home.

Hello SPRING!!

WOW! This has been a crazy year here in the foothills and metro area of Denver this past fall and winter.  I am looking out my  window and can't help but be amazed at how mild it has been.  While many states to the east of us have been having weather we are typically used to we have been having mild storms and even rain.  Well it has snowed a few times, and we have had sporadic freezes, but all in all it has been exceptionally --- well --=exceptional:)

Winter is usually our slow time of the year because of the weather.  It's not because we don't work in the winter it's because it's generally not the first thing on a persons mind; having their concrete mudjacked at this time of year.  Most people aren't meandering around their yards taking stock on what needs to be fixed and various maintenance issues outside in the winter, so they don't think about it.  But this is the time to get an estimate and have the work done as long as the ground is not frozen.  Why?  Because we have winter discount prices.

Our discount prices remain the same if you decide to have the work done no matter if the weather changes for the worst and we have to wait until later in the Spring or not. As long as you let us know by sending in the discounted estimate withing the 30 days allotted. Gas prices are continuing to rise, and we have to make adjustments to defray our operating costs, so it is to your best interest to take advantage of this awesome opportunity to have your sunken concrete mudjacked. So if you are fortunate enough to have checked out this blog, mention the winter discount and YAY for you! This will save you some $'s!  Check out our other pages there are pictures before and after of the work we do, these are not pictures of work others have done, these are our own work.

P.S.  Make sure to get outside while it is so nice, the vitamin D does a lot for your temperament, ask my husband!

Save your concrete before it's too late.
